The Rotary Club of Worcester South Africa was charted on 2nd November 1946. It is characterised by its efforts in a wide range of Community Service projects and is well known for the warmth of its fellowship.

It was the fourth club established in the Western Cape and the twentieth in the Republic of South Africa. It draws its members from the town of Worcester and the surrounding community and has currently 32 members, with the age of 49.

It is situated in Rotary District 9350 - Zone 20A which includes the Western and Southern Cape as well as Namibia and Angola.

Worcester is a Town with a particularly impressive cultural heritage. It was established in 1820 and was named after the Marquis of Worcester, the oldest brother of Lord Charles Somerset. It is situated in the heart of the of the Breeder River wine-growing region and is surrounded by the Hottentots Holland, Brandwacht and Hex River Mountains.

Worcester is the home of the largest brandy distillery the KWV Brandy Distillery, which continues the proud tradition of brandy distilling started at the Cape. It is also a renowned centre for the sight and hearing impaired.

The Club meets for lunch every Thursday at the Cumberland Hotel at 12:30 for 13:00, with the exception of the second Thursday of the month, when a Business Meeting is held at the Worcester Bowling Club at 18:00.
